PADANG BESAR – Amanah intends to contest the seats that were once allocated to Bersatu in the 14th general election (GE14).

Amanah vice-president Datuk Seri Mujahid Yusof Rawa said the policy set by Pakatan Harapan (PH) is very clear that all component parties can claim the seats allocated to Bersatu in GE14.

“Alhamdulillah, the discussions have been completed without any problems and we are just waiting for the announcement of the candidates at the PH convention to be held in Ipoh, Perak, on October 20,” he told reporters after attending the Bicara Politik Semasa programme here last night.

The PH coalition consists of PKR, DAP, Amanah and the United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation.

In GE14, Bersatu was a PH component party before withdrawing from the coalition on February 23, 2020.

Commenting further, Mujahid said that in previous discussions at the national level, Amanah will contest 30 to 40 seats in GE15, but it depends on the decision that will be announced later.
